I remember my acting teacher in LA telling us a story about seeing HIS friend in a play, and at the end the character holds a gun up to his head, with a look of abject fear, sweating, just an amazing physical performance looking into the unknown. His friend wouldn't tell him how he got to that state emotionally until the show closed, despite my teacher's insistence to know his secret. At the end of the run, finally the friend said that the worst thing physically in the world to him is taking an ice cold shower. So he thought of that as he held the gun to his head. Made no sense to the reality of the moment in…
