For What It's Worth - to borrow a song title - here's something: I've chosen to decline a number of things over the years for various reasons: here's what I learned from 'No' (which is a complete sentence in itself): I never had regret visit me afterwards 2-3 days, a week or still less a month afterwards. I hope this helps.
