Well! Michael, if someone said you weren’t talented, I would tend to think that the person is not well-versed in theatre or filament television and I would totally ignored and yes continue to be an actor talent. I think of something that we we have it. It’s an achievement skill you work at so we’re working at achieving a greater sense of one’s talent.

I agree with you that talent is innate and skill is developed over time. I think that our business is so subjective that a person can be successful in it regardless of their perceived level of talent.

Who the HELL thinks you have no talent? lol! Please. You're a gift to the theatre and the screen. "If a whole lot of people said I was not talented, I'd still have to be an actor." Yup. Actually "talent" is a matter of taste, happenstance and the vicissitudes of the culture in a particular moment in time. Your calling as an actor withstands time and is a constant. And talk about the eye of the beholder. How many people think Al Pacino is a genius and how many think he overacts his way through every role? It's a personal, visceral judgement, and you CAN have it about yourself. You just don't talk about it. It's sacred and private. Love…

I'm not sure if it's a question for the artist or the actor: possibly a talking point for critics or audience members. Their answers probably wouldn't serve the actor in any measurable way. So I guess my answer would be another question: 'Who needs to know and why?' Michael Caine said somewhere: 'I'm a highly skilled professional actor. Whether I have any talent or not is beside the point.'
