This is amazing!! I study at The Acting Center LA and this is exactly what we talk about (literally a pinwheel!) - how outlook, intention, personality, thoughts, emotions, physical/vocal traits, environment, etc. all create an individual that is just living their life when the scene happens!

Absolutely excellent discussion of how observation and knowledge of human relations impact actor choices. My secret sauce as a Psyche major, Human Relations minor; criminal trial lawyer; turned actor.

Man, this is a really good one, Kostroff. Gotta say, I think I'm batting a little under 500 on this list on the regular. Great reminder that there's always more. The first 20 seconds of this video...? A-MEN.

I hear these ideas frequently, but when I actually get in front of the camera for an audition I often find I'm just trying to get it done (I also have a baby and a toddler, so, there's that). I often find that I haven't done all these great things for my prep. It bums me out a little. I would love to strengthen my self-direction muscles.
