They can also do a rewrite last minute because they found some proof of historical inaccuracies which would get them into a lot of trouble, so they had to shuffle a few things to make it more generic or not specify specific things.

AS A 73 YR OLD ACTOR I TRY NOT TO EVEN WORRY ABOUT THAT...AND HOPE IT'S NOT TO OFTEN. THAT DRIP, DRIP, DRIP OF CAPACITY IN MY BRAIN IS HARD ENOUGH TO TRY AND BLOCK. BUT THANKS FOR THE REMINDER OF WHAT BRINGING NEGATIVITY INTO THE PROCESS CAN BE YOUR WORST ENEMY. 😉

And...if you're lucky, they won't get to your scene first thing in the day and you'll have even more time to absorb the changes!! Working on new plays really does put you in the mindset for receiving changes that have to go live in front of an audience without retakes. Always good to have that experience. Thanks, Michael, for putting this out. Nice to be reminded to stay positive and embrace the changes.

Y'know... Life is just like that sometimes; someone in a position to make a change decides it's needed. That's their call to make. If you can't roll with it, maybe you should reconsider your line of work, because this one's too stressful for you.
